Flying and landing in Greenland requires a technical and operational permit: A flight permit is a general permit for flying in Greenlandic airspace and is a permit for the pilot and the aircraft. It is the airline responsible for the transport that must apply for this general flight permit.
The general flight permit does not automatically cover flying and landing in areas also covered by other legislation, such as protected areas (e.g., the National Park in Northeast Greenland) or near bird colonies. Therefore, activities need to be assessed and granted permission, perhaps with certain conditions or restrictions depending on activity, specific location, time of year etc.
