Area allotment – fuel depots, storage, scientific instruments

  • The expedition permit will, in cases where such a condition may be relevant, be dependent on a valid, temporary area allotment.
  • Temporary area allotment permits in the National Park in North and East Greenland must be obtained from the Department of Land Management at oed@nanoq.gl
  • Temporary area allotment permits for fuel depots outside the national park must be obtained from the relevant municipality.

The project owner who has obtained the expedition (and national park) permit is also responsible for fuel depots, storage, scientific instruments, etc. Therefore, the project owner should be the one obtaining the area allotments required for these installations, i.e. with the project owner’s details on the application. The expedition permit number should be referenced in the area allotments. Please note that environmental terms and conditions will be issued for handling, storing and transporting fuel. The project owner is responsible for ensuring that all environmental standards are adhered to, and the project owner is held accountable for any environmental damage resulting from non-compliance with these conditions.
