For safety reasons, the obligation to notify the Joint Arctic Command of initiation, completion, delay or implementation of other changes to a planned expedition activity is an essential condition. The obligation to notify is always emphasized in the permit document itself and in the e-mail to which the expedition permit is attached.
Prior to the departure for Greenland, final lists of all participants of the expedition must be received by:

- The Joint Rescue Coordination Centre (jrcc@jrcc.gl)
- The Joint Arctic Command (FKO-KTP-A-JOCADM@mil.dk)
It is extremely important to report the start/stop of the expedition and to report the phone number for your satellite phone and MMSI number or ID code on Personal Locator Beacons (PLBs). This also includes reporting any delays or changes in the expedition plan. Report these to the following e-mail addresses:

Unfortunately, many expedition teams (across all expedition categories) do not fulfill the notification obligation. Ffailure to fulfill the obligation to notify will be addressed and with potential consequences.
